It’s not like you haven’t tried.
You have struggled for so long to overcome your suffering and have tried various coping strategies – overeating, perhaps overdrinking, overworking, and numbing out. Maybe, you even tried individual therapy.
Has any of this helped? Hopefully, your effort has sometimes taken the edge off your suffering, but you still feel ashamed and guilty while thinking, “What’s wrong with me?” Why can’t I stop feeling, thinking, and acting this way?
You deserve credit for not giving up and keeping a glimmer of hope alive that change is possible despite not finding a solution to your pain and suffering.
Some part of you has kept you going, moving forward, and alive – even though you often feel stuck in the mud.
Change is possible!
For over 23 years, we have helped many clients get unstuck from the mud, find new meaning and purpose in their lives, rediscover their True Nature, and reconnect to a deep sense of well-being, joy, clarity, compassion, faith, and trust in a more positive future.
Therapy is a collaborative journey – like Sherlock Homes and Dr. Watson – that attempts to discover the underlying causes of your suffering.
Anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, or feelings of worthlessness did not appear at birth, and you are not the cause of your suffering.
The causes (e.g., caregivers, teachers, peers, and others in your youth) are more complex, and you can gain nothing by focusing on them. Maybe they did their best – even if their efforts were not good enough.
Negative beliefs have staying power.
We are all 100 percent responsible for our actions. But we can only act response-able when we can respond. That’s what the word response-ability means: having the ability to respond.
When you were a child, you could not respond in a way that allowed you to feel good about yourself when you were made fun of by peers, shamed by a teacher, yelled at, or not given the attention you needed from a parent.
Instead, you learned coping methods to survive and not feel your pain. You learned to cut yourself off from your feelings, perhaps by worrying, fantasizing, or stuffing your feelings so much that you became depressed or numb. You felt a sense of dread or anxiety by pushing down the fear and terror.
So, you were not response-able for feeling those feelings or letting go of any negative beliefs. Those negative feelings and beliefs stay stuck in your mind and body. So, you have continued to re-experience feelings of shame, anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts of “I am worthless” or “I am not good enough” as an adult.
Change requires a mind-body approach!
We will work as a team to uncover all the root causes of your suffering. Our approach relies on a mind-body therapeutic process called Trauma Resolution Energy Therapy. This therapeutic process will help you let go of all these negative feelings, memories, and beliefs that you held on to as a way of coping with your pain.
So instead of feeling anxious, depressed, or worthless, you will soon begin feeling hopeful, alive, anxiety-free, and even joyful.
During this journey, you will learn simple meditation and daily practices to help you feel inner peace and well-being. Healing fully will take time because the wounds are deep, but there is a part of you (sense of Self or your True Nature) untouched by these harmful experiences.
Here’s an example. Imagine or recall a place (beach, mountain top, walk in the woods, pet, or firstborn child) that makes you feel fantastic. Notice the sense of well-being this brings you. This positive response is your True Nature. Learning to access your True Nature will deepen feelings of well-being, allowing you to heal the wounded parts.
